In 2007, OMNI Institute, an applied science research company based in Denver, conducted an independent survey of Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver programs. Their key findings include:

*Clubs provide multiple programs that serve the whole child: 89% of members participate in three or more of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver's Core Program Areas.

*More Club involvement leads to more positive impact: Youth with the highest Club participation levels score significantly higher than their peers in the following areas:
  • positive character development,
  • self-esteem and efficacy,
  • responsibility-taking and decision-making skills,
  • commitment/bonding to school,
  • self-reported interest/performance in school.
*Leadership skills help youth succeed: Members who participate in Club leadership activities score significantly higher than their peers on measures of:
  • self-esteem,
  • communication and conflict-resolution skills,
  • responsibility-taking and decision-making skills,
  • school bonding and commitment.
